Webstead builds websites for small and medium-sized businesses. You supply the raw material — notes, photos, an old brochure. We write the copy, build the site, set up your Google Business Profile, and keep the whole thing running. You run your business; we run the website.
Who this is for
Owner-operated and small-team businesses — roughly 1 to 50 staff — whose website is missing, stale, or producing no calls, bookings, or orders. The sector matters less than the situation.
Salons, spas, clinics, fitness studios, and home services. Your customers search on their phones and call the business that looks ready. Your site should make that call easy.
Restaurants, cafés, caterers, bakeries, and food trucks going bricks-and-mortar. Menus people can actually read on a phone, reservations that work, directions that are right.
Accountants, bookkeepers, lawyers, mortgage brokers, consultants, and coaches. A site that states plainly what you do, who you do it for, and how to reach you.
Boutiques, specialty stores, and makers selling a modest catalogue online. A store that is set up properly — payments, taxes, and pickup rules included — not half-configured.
Most website projects fail in the same place: the owner is handed a blank document and told to write their own website. That is not how this works. Send notes, photos, your old site, a brochure off the counter — we turn it into finished copy, a finished site, and a Google profile that is set up properly.
That is the last time you are asked to produce material.
How it works
Fill in a short intake form and take one 20-minute call. Send whatever you have — notes, photos, your old site, a brochure.
We design the site, write the finished copy from your material, set up your Google Business Profile, and handle the search basics. You review one consolidated draft and tell us what to fix.
The site goes live — a Launch site targets 10 business days from intake. A care plan then keeps it hosted, secure, backed up, and updated, with a person to call when something needs changing.
Pricing
Most web designers make you book a sales call to learn what a website costs. Ours are on the pricing page — including the option to pay $0 down and spread a build over 24 months.
Straight answers
Live in days, not months. A Launch site targets 10 business days from content intake, Growth 15 business days, and Commerce 20–25. The clock starts when we have your raw material — and gathering it takes one short form and one 20-minute call.
No — it is the normal starting point. Copywriting is included in every build: you supply notes, photos, an old brochure, whatever exists, and we write the finished copy. On Growth and Commerce, the copy comes from a structured interview: you talk, we write.
Yes. You own your domain, your content, and your site files, whichever way you pay. If you ever cancel a care plan — 30 days' notice, month-to-month after any initial term — your site files and a full content export are handed over. No hostage clauses.
Yes. Every build has two routes: standard terms of 40% to start and 60% at launch, or $0 down spread over 24 months — Launch at $139/mo, Growth at $199/mo, bundled with Care Plus. After month 24 you drop to the plain care rate and own the site outright.
A short written report on four things: how fast your site loads on a phone, how it reads and taps on mobile, whether it shows up on Google when nearby customers search, and the state of your Google Business Profile. It names the three fixes that matter most — including the ones you could honestly do yourself. No obligation, no sales call required.
Who's behind this
Webstead is a small, owner-run studio based in the Waterloo Region, in the Cambridge area of Ontario, building websites for owner-run businesses here and across the province. There is no account-manager layer, no call centre, and no ticket queue: you deal with the person who builds your site — the same person who quotes it, writes it, and answers when you call after launch.
Webstead is new to client work, and we would rather say that plainly than pad this page with logos we have not earned yet. The evidence is right below: five products we designed, built, and run ourselves — plus this site, looked after the same way yours will be. Every inquiry gets a reply from a person, the same business day, at hello@webstead.ca.
Our own products
We don't just build for clients — we design, build, and run our own products, and keep them live and looked after. These five are running right now, and they are the standard of work your site gets.
